Watch the opening ceremony of the California Association of Museum’s (CAM) 2025 conference. The conference, entitled “interwoven,” was held in the city of San Francsico across multiple venues from February 18th – 21st. The opening ceremony was held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and featured a performance by the Nickerson-Rossi Dance Company, an award from the San Francisco Mayor’s Office, updates from CAM board members/affiliates, and a keynote address by Author Beth Redmond-Jones who authored the book, Welcoming Museum Visitors with Unapparent Disabilities. The book explores how international cultural organizations serve individuals with mental health and neurodiverse challenges and what steps can be made to promote inclusive design in practice. Kelly McKinley, CEO of Bay Area Discovery Museum, joined Beth on stage for a salon-style conversion about the book and keynote speech.
