Our Team
Meet the Founders
Al Spector
Director
Al Spector serves as the lead director for Strategic Development Studios, and he also serves as President of the studio’s parent company, Strategic Development Technologies. Al brings years of experience directing broadcasts and films to scale up nonprofit fundraising and community impact. He’s also is an experienced panel moderator, host, and MC for wide range of production needs.
Beyond his directing experience, over the past couple of decades Al’s work has focused on helping nonprofits and small businesses start, operate, and succeed. He has served the nonprofit/social impact community in various roles: executive director, board member, strategic advisor, volunteer, staff, and lead fundraiser. Before turning his full attention to nonprofits and small businesses Al held various corporate posts in leading global companies. He earned his economics degree from UC Berkeley, an executive MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, and a law degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder.

Matthew Adams-Grigorieff
Executive Producer
Matt Adams-Grigorieff serves as the executive producer and technical production lead for Strategic Development Studios. He also co-founded Strategic Development Technologies and serves as the company’s Chief Technology Officer. From complex broadcasts to post-production operations, Matt is an audio/video technology expert with experience fine tuning audio systems, multi-camera shoots, video engineering software, and ensuring robust data/livestream connectivity for broadcasts in the field.
Prior to serving in his role at strategic development studios, Matt specialized in advancing nonprofit development capacity through innovative technologies and creating database solutions. He has implemented technology forward fundraising solutions for numerous nonprofits including UC Berkeley, Call of the Sea (constructing an $11M educational tall ship), and Prometheus Orchestra in Berkeley. While serving as the Director of Advancement at the San Francisco Maritime National Parks Association he drove the institution to be one of the most technologically advanced fundraising associations in the U.S. National Park Service. He also created and technically designed the popular virtual sea chantey program for the Maritime National Park which is still going today. Matt earned his bachelor and graduate degrees from UC Berkeley in policy and was recognized as an outstanding fundraiser for several of the university’s high-profile education programs.
